Lofoord

Our History & Vision

History

AFM Lofoord has been a prominent and leading congregation in Uitenhage and the Eastern Cape community over many years. Upon meeting in several places for worship over this time, the present facility on the corner of North and Graaff-Reinet street was inaugurated on June 10, 1995 with great gratitude for a dream realized.

We are very fortunate to sense the unifying presence of the Holy Spirit in every service, and to enjoy the relevancy of Christ the Lord even in the third millenium. We simply believe authentic faith and worship accompanied by sound biblical preaching will attract attention from heaven and earth. Every human being is in need of heaven's blessings in Christ while all of heaven is open and receptive to human cries of prayer and praise! Church is simply the intersection where heaven and earth comes together in Christ through the Spirit to the glory of God the Father!

Our commitment is to Christ and his people and would appreciate your visit at any time!

Values:

"Integrity" is what we value first and foremost
Defending the Church' integrity is therefore a primary obligation
"Authenticity" is a close second for Real Faith in a confused and hurting world
"Sincerety" in our dealing with people on every level reflecting Christian love to all

Our Focus Is Simple:
  • Worship God authentically
  • Spreading the "good news" or Message of Christ continiously
  • Developing devoted disciples constantly
  • Serving and loving humanity compassionately

In all of this - We do value leadership excellence!

Vision

Our dream and vision is to restore the Church' integrity as the respected "Body of Christ" through wich heaven's blessings flow to the world.

To establish a biblically functional faith community where people may encounter God's love in Christ through the Holy Spirit.

A place of acceptance and "belonging" for all people!

Where Christ is "All in All!"

"For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ" (2 Cor. 4:5-6).
